Arson Supected in Fire At Sarah Palin's Church

Seriously? Now someone has set Fire to Sarah Palin's Church...

The Anchorage Daily News reported a suspicious fire at the Wasilla Bible Church, the home church of Governor Palin. It happened Friday night, while some ladies were making crafts in the basement there are some reports of children possibly being inside as well. And someone set Fire to the place... Police are not officialing saying that it is Arson at this point, but Church Pastor Larry Koone was quoted in the ADN as saying "The possibilities are so wide and variable," he said. "Someone intentionally did it, but we don't know who and why."

I don't know why either...but I have some ideas...

Sarah Palin is obviously thinking the same thing, her office released the following statement today....

"Gov. Palin stopped by the church this morning, and she told an assistant pastor that she apologizes if the incident is in any way connected to the undeserved negative attention the church has received since she became a vice presidential candidate on Aug. 29. Whatever the motives of the arsonist, the governor has faith in the scriptural passage that what was intended for evil will in some way be used for good."

I hope you are right Gov. Palin. I truly hope that this attack on your Church will be enough for thinking Americans to wake up from there cultural comas to see that Christians need to Defend our Rights before they are taken from us.

Oh and what about the fact this Fire took place on Friday night. I just heard about it a few minutes ago. Still waiting for it to be picked up by the National Media as a big story. My guess is, they'll "break" the news after Drudge or another Big Blog picks it up. As a fellow blogger pointed out, Can you imagine if someone had set Obama's Home Church of Trinity on Fire? What would the coverage look like then? And do you think they'd be so confused about the Motive?

Because KTUU in Alaska points out repeatedly, No Motives or Suspects? No Idea if it's even connected to Politics. The anchor in the 'news' segment below refers to Wasilla Bible Church as Sarah Palin's 'former church', but other reports have said her children had planned to attend services this weekend, while the Governor worked on the State Budget in Juneau. Sounds like her church to me.... Count how many times the Anchor asks the reporter to confirm that there are No suspects or Motives...

Yeah, I'm not a cop or a firefighter, so I'll stand back and see what the investigation determines, but they've already so much as admitted that it was Arson. So someone Intentionally set Fire to Sarah Palin's Church. Forget the Sarah Palin Part. Someone set Fire to a Church filled with at least five women, and I want to know who did it. My gut says Liberal Nutjob Group, but it could be anyone. I'm just wondering how many Church Burnings were in Wasilla prior to Sarah Palin's selection to ride Shotgun on the GOP Ticket?

Who ever is found to be responsible, I want them punished for one of those "hate crimes" the ACLU is always harping about. Politically motivated or Not this was still an Attack on a Christian place of Worship. It's time to start paying attention...before it's too late.

Update: The Ladies over at the Read My Lipstick Network provided the mailing address for the Wasilla Bible Church if you'd like to send a donation or a card of support.

Since I have not yet seen this story on the mainstream news, I wish it could have been reported by you without so much venom. No good can ever come from being divisive and hateful. I *do*, however, thank you for including the address for donations. I will be doing what I can to help. happy holidays.

I didn't see any venom in your story, Mickey, so I'll ignore Miss Jenny and forgive her for her ignorance. This is a hate crime, regardless of Sarah Palin. And you're right, the ACLU needs to get involved, but I'm sure the parish isn't the right color.

Jenny- I am livid so if you sensed that I'm getting my point across.

The question you should be asking yourself is..Why haven't you heard this in the MSM?

I am not being divisive or Hateful in pointing out that Someone intentially set Fire to Palin's Church.

I hope once the Person or Persons responsible is found, that you express the same "outrage" over their Hate Crime.

I first heard about this early Saturday evening when someone told me they heard it on a quick news break on Fox News. I immediately wanted to check out the story online and blog about it but I could barely find any info about the fire online even though it had occured Friday night. At the time, I used info from the local tv station for my post. Then, Fox News put it online, later followed by the Anchorage Daily News, which I then added as a link at the bottom of my post.

It's amazing that this fire wasn't a leading story Saturday morning. Had this been the Obamessiah's family church, we probably would have had all day news coverage of the fire, and how horrible it was that it was set while people were in the church, yet this story remains just a brief little news blurb.

Btw, we apparently were one of the first blogs to even post about the fire, and somehow CNN.com linked us in their article last night. They had an article about the fire and then at the bottom, a list of related blogs posts to click on, and ours was first. Well, we've had hundreds of hits off that link all night and still today, and you wouldn't believe the vicious, nasty comments they've been leaving all over our blog, even in old posts. It's amazing how miserable these liberal weenies always are.

I don't know which is more sickening. The act itself or the lack of coverage. Both are disgusting.

I've noticed a few outlets have picked up the story today. But seriously if this happened at Trinity...OMG. The MSM would be falling all over themselves covering the investigation and doing "related stories" on the "historical" nature of Church Burnings...

Great post, BG.

May God protect Governor Palin and the church.

We have very evil and wicked people among us as revealed by this act, by posters on this thread presuming to criticize you, and the MSM for failing to report this in the manner they would have reported the burning of another church like Trinity UCC.

You're "spot on", imo, BG.

I think this nation has gone to hell... literally... and Obama and certain of his followers and his friends in the MSM are evidence of that.

Grace.

"they've already so much as admitted that it was Arson"

How the hell can they admit something that they don't know? So far the fire department has said that the fire is "suspicious" and they are investigating possible arson. And from that you conclude that it is "clearly" a "liberal nutjob group"? Give me a break. You don't know jack about what happened and you should be ashamed of yourself for taking a human tragedy and perverting it for your political gain.

biased,
are you really surprised by the lack of coverage?

Just a little update. Fire accelerators were used on her church while a group of people were in it, so it was def. arson, ATF is investigating now. Among the group were two children.

I thought you might be interested in hearing that today (12/27/08) I did this google search: msm palin's church arson

This post came up fifth. Kudos to you.

I contrast this story with the one about the person who called out, "Kill him!" at a Palin rally. That got tons of attention in the MSM, and was lauded as an example as to how McCain backers were hate-filled fringe lunatics.

This story? Doesn't fill the narrative, so not worthy.
